In order to study the stability of kanamycin sulfate in topical ointment base, examinations were carried out for hydrophylic ointment, hydrophylic petrolatum, PEG ointment and plastibase, compared with potassium penicilline G.
It was found that kanamycin sulphate is very stable in platibase and hydrophylic petrolatum, but Hydrophylic oinment was very unstable.
Potassium penilcilline G was also stable in plastibase, but hydrophylic ointment was so unstable taht it¢¥s half-life was 3 days only. Hydrophylic petrolatum and PEG ointment were not so good.
